Critical Incident Response Program
Critical Incident Program
Members of the Michigan Bankers Workers Compensation Fund can contact TELUS Health counselors as first responders for employee assistance when robberies or violence in the workplace occurs. Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Services is a resource provided to all members of the Fund.
When a member of the Fund experiences a bank robbery or is affected by a traumatic event such as threat of workplace violence, employees may be affected in a number of ways. One may feel overwhelmed by the event. Some people may have difficulty sleeping, feel distracted or feel afraid or unsafe. Others may experience symptoms of stress. Others may not have any unusual reactions at all. As an employer, you may have questions or concerns about how to get your employees the immediate support they need.
The Critical Incident Response Program offers:
- A dedicated, toll-free number that you can call for advice on how to respond to a workplace crisis in the most supportive and effective way
- Direct access to a consultant on the TELUS Health Critical Incident Management team. These consultants have been specially trained in management consultation, workplace violence, threat assessment and other crisis-related issues. They have the experience and expertise to help you develop proactive plans to reduce the risks associated with workplace crises.
- On-site Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) services at one member location per traumatic event.
