Why Ergonomics is Important
Ergonomics is an applied science concerned with designing and arranging things people use so that the people and things interact most efficiently and safely. So why is that important?
#1 Safety – protects employees’ physical health, mental health, and personal happiness. Prevents overexertion, repetitive injuries, and chronic pain issues.
#2 Employee Morale – potential to improve production, engagement, and morale. If you are uncomfortable or in pain from a poor work position you can not possibly give your work the full attention needed.
#3 Inclusivity – Ergonomics allows people of all abilities to have reasonable accommodations to do their job. An ergonomic mindset helps problem-solve for people with limited vision, hearing, strength, size, and dexterity.
