Are You Relaxing on Winter Safety?
Don’t relax on winter safety!
- Discuss workplace winter procedures and know who is in charge of keeping walkways and parking lots clear
- Remember to wear boots and be aware of icy conditions
- Report any injury to your supervisor or HR department as soon as possible
- Consider keeping a go-kit including extra blankets, clothing, bottled water, and nonperishable food items
- Check on weather conditions and updates before traveling
- Be aware of alternate routes to work and also refuge locations if needed in an emergency
- Keep your gas tank at no less than 1/4 tank
- Use winter rated windshield washer fluid
- Make sure your vehicle is in good condition – especially the tires
- Have an emergency kit in your vehicle
Winter is a hazardous time, remind each other of safety procedures and stay aware of your surroundings.
Remember to salt your sidewalks and parking lots and let’s keep each other safe!
