Are You Relaxing on Winter Safety?

 

Don’t relax on winter safety!

  • Discuss workplace winter procedures and know who is in charge of keeping walkways and parking lots clear
  • Remember to wear boots and be aware of icy conditions
  • Report any injury to your supervisor or HR department as soon as possible
  • Consider keeping a go-kit including extra blankets, clothing, bottled water, and nonperishable food items
  • Check on weather conditions and updates before traveling
  • Be aware of alternate routes to work and also refuge locations if needed in an emergency
  • Keep your gas tank at no less than 1/4 tank
  • Use winter rated windshield washer fluid
  • Make sure your vehicle is in good condition – especially the tires
  • Have an emergency kit in your vehicle

Winter is a hazardous time, remind each other of safety procedures and stay aware of your surroundings.

Remember to salt your sidewalks and parking lots and let’s keep each other safe!
